Cormac Murphy is an actor and singer working across Dublin, London, and Belfast who likes his work physical. He has led indie features and shorts, played everything from spelling-bee champions to monsters worth killing on stage, and fronted both a jazz band and a rock band — sometimes in the same year.
He is currently completing his training at Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting in Dublin, graduating in June 2026. Trained previously at Portland Community College and Grant High School, he spent two years as an acting assistant teacher at Portland Playhouse, which is where he learned that the fastest way to understand a scene is to have to explain it to someone else. Off-script he is a mixed martial artist, a stage-combat performer, and a self-taught guitarist, and he moves easily between hip-hop, contemporary, aerial, and social dance.
He is drawn to roles that need a voice, a swing, or a fall — ideally all three.
“Each actor brings his own traditions.” — Sarah Bernhardt
